The Olympic group of companies is an owner and operator of offshore- and fishing vessels. The companies are located in Fosnavåg on the West Coast of Norway.
Olympic Shipping AS was founded in 1996 by captain Stig Remøy together with Bjørn Kvalsund. The company began its operation with 2 offshore vessels MV Olympic Commander and MV Olympic Supplier and the deep sea trawler FT Olympic Prawn.
During the first 14 years of operation, Olympic has expanded its fleet to 15 offshore vessels including 1 new building, 1 research vessel, 1 krill vessel and 2 modern deep sea trawlers.
The Olympic group of companies is privately owned and the founder is the main shareholder. All offshore vessels and the research vessel are owned by Olympic Ship AS and its subsidiaries. The deep sea trawler is owned by Olympic Prawn AS.
Today the administrative staff is employed by Olympic Shipping AS and the seamen are employed by Olympic Crewing AS a subsidiary of Olympic Shipping AS. The knowledge the Olympic organisation has gained from operating vessels in harsh environment far north is an invaluable asset and an advantage of the company. This knowledge and the company’s investments in new high end technology, safe and environment friendly vessels have made Olympic a preferred partner world wide.
